ABOUT US

The National Association of Film and Media Artists was founded by entertainment industry professionals to provide resources and assistance to film and digital media artists. Due to the rapidly changing landscape of today’s entertainment industry, the production and distribution of films ranges from small individual production teams to monster studio systems.

NAFDMA believes in supporting the creativity and inspiration of film and media artists who want to make a difference in the world and to maintain the purity of heart and spirit that originally led them into these arts.

MISSION STATEMENT

The National Association of Film and Digital Media Artists mission is to aid the film and digital media industries by:

• Working to establish relationships with insurance companies including disability and production in order to secure and lower rates for its members.

• Providing its members with many discounts and benefits which assist artists to involve themselves in and compete for smaller and independent media projects as well as providing individuals with “perks” that only an organized association can provide.

• Recognizing and rewarding media artists for who have either raised public awareness and increased social consciousness with regard to situations, societies, or issues that affect global communities. One important way in which this goal is achieved is by sponsoring the Insight Awards, a prestigious and highly regarded honor within the Film, Television, and Digital Media industries.

• Publicizing and increasing resources which lead to the development of the practical skills necessary to advance in the business of film and media arts.

• Cultivating diversity and breaking down the barriers of race, culture, age and gender for the good of the individual and society as a whole.

• Supporting its members through education, information, networking, analysis, exposure, and advocacy.
